Should you post about your promotions on social media?

We live in a hyperconnected world – this is undeniable! But sometimes the line between what is appropriate and inappropriate to post on social media gets blurred – especially when it comes to promotional work. It’s true – compared to most other careers or part-time jobs, a brand ambassador or promotional job can seem “not that serious” since you don’t have to go to an office or report to a manager or supervisor every day.

But this couldn’t be further from the truth! If anything we expect even more from our brand ambassadors and promotional associates because they are expected to do their job with no supervision whatsoever! We depend on you to represent Prestige and our clients to the best of your ability every single time you work for us (and even after as well!). This expectation also includes what you post on your personal social media pages as well. 

Just like most of our brands, we have a social media team here at Prestige Promotion that monitors online mentions of our business and our clients. Brands invest millions into being able to identify places online where conversations are happening around their brand and who is leading them. In our digital world, this is a must!

While we cannot control what you or anyone posts on social media, here are a few tips to make sure your posts are appropriate and in-line with our policies here at Prestige.

  1. THINK! Is what you are about to post true? helpful? inspiring? necessary? kind? A good litmus test should be, would the CEO of the brand you are representing or the CEO of Prestige (Angela Rizzi) approve of the content you are about to post?

      2.  The use of your cellphone for personal communications is prohibited during promotions. That includes social media posts!    If you must post something, make sure to wait until after your event is done. 

      3.  When in doubt, ask us! Email and ask for approval before posting! We will get back to you right away and then you can rest assured knowing you are in the clear.

      4.  At Prestige Promotion, we encourage communication and love it when our associates are passionate about working for us and the brands they represent. But why not let us share the photos you take or comments about your promotion on your behalf? We are very active on Facebook and Instagram and would love to share your content – and give you credit for it too!
